Implementers of BJD

The  worldwide  Bone  and  Joint  Decade project  has  a  15  member  international steering committee  and 43 ambassadors who   are   distinguished   researchers  of musculoskeletal  disorders. Two  of them, professors Heikki Isomäki and Pär Slätis, come from Finland.

Each  of  the  96 countries participating in 
the Bone and Joint Decade has a national co-ordinator    communicating    with   the international    organisation.    In   Finland physiatrist  Mats Grönbland  acts  as  the liaison. 

The Finnish Rheumatism Association is  in charge  of  the co-ordination  of  the BJD´s  practical  work  in  Finland.  The Association  organises  training and expert meetings  on  the  focus areas of the BJD,

The  operation  network  of the Finnish Bone and  Joint  Decade  is  composed  of  health 
care   professionals,  people  suffering   from
the disorders, researchers and organisations. Decision-makers,   health  care  professional and  the general  public are  the target  of the operation.
